And the best part is…it’s as fresh as right here in your own community!
How Buying a Whole Lamb Works
(You can reserve at any point during the year. It’s first come first served, and a limited number of lambs are available each slaughter. They’ve sold out at each harvest, don’t wait too long!)
You reserve your lamb with a $100 deposit, and I send/email you a cutting order (how you want your lamb cut up for consumption. Chops, roasts, ground, etc.) for you to fill out and send back. I am available for questions about filling this out.
When the slaughter date nears, I will check in and coordinate with you to pick up your lamb.
Post-slaughter I will send you the invoice for the remaining price based on the animal’s hanging weight and I will help you coordinate payment to the butcher for cut-and-wrap fees.
You pick up your lamb on the agreed-upon date and place.
How much meat is a whole lamb?
A full lamb is 50-60 lbs of meat. It’s about enough to fill two milk crates or a top freezer on a standard over-under-fridge combo.
You can expect to pay between $550-$600 in total cost for a full lamb.
