The Lambs

Willamette Community lambs spend their days grazing on pastures located along the banks of the Willamette River, north of Albany, Oregon. They are born on lush pasture in the springtime, and spend their entire lives in the open air on a 100% grass and forb diet, where they are able to express their natural tendencies. They are slaughtered by a mobile ‘on farm’ processor, ensuring minimal transport and stress for the entirety of their lives. The lambs are never given growth hormones or antibiotics, and are managed with their welfare a top priority. Happy animals = delicious tender meat!

How Buying a Whole Lamb Works

  1. (You can reserve at any point during the year. It’s first come first served, and a limited number of lambs are available each slaughter. They’ve sold out at each harvest, don’t wait too long!)

  2. You reserve your lamb with a $100 deposit, and I send/email you a cutting order (how you want your lamb cut up for consumption. Chops, roasts, ground, etc.) for you to fill out and send back. I am available for questions about filling this out.

  3. When the slaughter date nears, I will check in and coordinate with you to pick up your lamb.

  4. Post-slaughter I will send you the invoice for the remaining price based on the animal’s hanging weight and I will help you coordinate payment to the butcher for cut-and-wrap fees.

  5. You pick up your lamb on the agreed-upon date and place.
